Join Community Charity Drive & Family Fun Day in Calgary. Hey Calgary friends, spring is here, and it’s the perfect time to come together as a community! We’re super excited to invite you and your loved ones to our Community Charity Drive and Family Fun Day on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the Silver Springs Community Centre, hosted by the wonderful folks at the Islamic Association of Northwest Calgary. Spread Kindness with Every Donation
Nothing warms the heart like helping others, right? That’s why we’re kicking off the day at 1:00 PM with a big charity drive. Grab those extra cans of soup, gently used jackets, or blankets you’ve been meaning to share, and drop them off to support local families. We’re teaming up with awesome groups like the Calgary Interfaith Food Bank and Muslim Families Network Society to make sure every donation counts. It’s such a simple way to live out the generosity Ramadan taught us, and trust me, seeing the donation piles grow feels so good! Our volunteers will be there with big smiles, ready to help sort everything.

Once you’ve shared your donations, stick around for the fun part—a Family Fun Day that’s got something for everyone! Picture this: the smell of juicy halal burgers and kebabs sizzling on the BBQ, fresh salads, and maybe even some crispy fries, all whipped up by our awesome community cooks. The kids will be in their element with face painting, a soccer game that’s sure to get competitive (in a fun way!), and storytelling sessions that bring Islamic values to life. For us grown-ups, it’s the perfect chance to catch up with old friends, meet new ones, or just soak in the happy vibes.
