Correction Policy

We aim to publish correct prayer times and correct information. When we get something wrong, we correct it.

What counts as a correction

  • A wrong prayer time, date, or timetable entry.
  • A wrong mosque name, address, or contact detail.
  • A wrong fact in a guide, for example a wrong date for Ramadan or a wrong description of a calculation method.
  • A broken link or a page that shows the wrong information.

How to report a mistake

Use the Contact Us page or email contact@calgaryprayertimes.com. Please include: the page address (URL) where you saw the mistake; the date and, for a prayer time, the prayer name; what is wrong, and what the correct information is, if you know it; your source, if the correction comes from a mosque timetable or another verifiable source.

What happens next

  1. We check the report against the source of the information — for prayer times, the calculation method and the date; for a mosque, the mosque itself or its published timetable.
  2. If the information on this site is wrong, we correct it.
  3. For a factual mistake in a guide, we add a short correction note at the end of the page, stating what was changed and when. Small spelling and formatting fixes are corrected without a note.
  4. For a prayer time, the corrected time replaces the wrong time as soon as it is verified. Because prayer times change daily, a note is added only if the mistake affected more than one day.

What we do not do

We do not change a prayer time to match another website without checking the calculation first. If two sites differ, it is usually because they use different calculation methods — see How Prayer Times Are Calculated.

Contact

Report a mistake: Contact Us or contact@calgaryprayertimes.com. No correction timeframe is promised.

How correction notes appear

Prayer times are used the same day they are published. A wrong Fajr or Maghrib time can mean someone prays at the wrong time, so a correction to a prayer time is treated as urgent: the corrected time replaces the wrong time as soon as it is verified, and no correction note is kept for a one-day error because the timetable itself moves on the next day. For a guide that stays on the site for months or years, a correction note is added at the end of the page so readers can see what changed and when.
